Speakeasy Small Business Overview

Pamela Bates, SPEAKEASY's girl-with-many-hats: I graduated from

the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY (a beautiful section

of the Bronx...really!) with a B.A. in Communication Arts. I found that

using my creative abilities and helping others succeed was a reward-

ing combination, which led to the launch of SPEAKEASY in 1994. I've

been telling my clients' stories ever since, always with the mission of

growing their businesses. It might involve creating a logo, designing an

ad, writing a press release, designing a direct mail or e-mail piece,

brainstorming with a client, planning a special event or an ad campaign.

There is no shortage of variety, but the focus remains the same:

help my clients retain current customers and attract new ones, while

increasing their bottom-lines.

Downtime? I'm often in the garden or the pool (in season of course),

fighting the dog for room on the couch so I can watch M*A*S*H* or an old

film, enjoying the campfire, reading, walking at the beach, or sublimely

sitting in my Adirondack chair, margarita in hand, watching the sunset. I spend as much time as I can with my husband, my family and my friends- cooking, talking, dancing and singing to music, and laughing as much as possible.
